The All England Club today has launched Centre Court: The Jewel in Wimbledon’s Crown a lavish coffee table book celebrating one of sport’s most historic and iconic venues. The book is available at the Wimbledon Online Shop (£25).
Packed with stunning and evocative images taken from the All England Club’s own archives and items of memorabilia plucked from the Wimbledon Museum – from Bjorn Borg’s headband to Roger Federer’s jacket – this stunning book also includes quotes and stories from some of tennis’s greatest names including Navratilova, Borg, McEnroe, Sampras and Federer.

Not that it matters, but why weren’t Martina and Pete also considered, being two of Centre Court’s all time winners? Was this done to target a certain segment of the Wimbledon market to guarantee a sellout? I think many people would be interested in that answer.

this was a very enjoyable day, but i was surprised that clisters was picked to play, i thought they would have picked some who had retired longer like martina. i understand why they picked henman to get the crowds. neverless it was a very special day
